Outlook Church is a member of New Covenant
International Ministries in Richards Bay, South Africa. Our mission is to
connect our hearts to Jesus Christ, to His church and to His commission. We
have three pastors and elders with Brent Brading as senior pastor, Quinton
Preen and Steve Neveling.
Our values are as follows:
1. Jesus
is the one and only way to the Father, where Jesus said in the Gospel of John
chapter fourteen verse six: “I am the way, the truth and the life; no
man comes to the Father except by Me.” There is no other way to get to
heaven but through Jesus Christ the Messiah.
2. The
Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God as stated in 2Timothy chapter
three verse sixteen: “All scripture is given by inspiration by God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
So the Bible is not just a book, but also a user manual for right living.
3. Worship
must be free, expressive and sacrificial as it states in Romans chapter twelve
verse one: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers
and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy
and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
4. God’s family or the believers in Jesus Christ is
the church. The people is the church, the church building is the auditorium,
only the building where the church congregates as stated in Acts chapter two
verses forty two to forty seven: “42 They devoted themselves
to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with
awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were
together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give
to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to MEET together in the
temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and
enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were
being saved.”
5. Everyone
is considered priests, serving the community. Everyone is encouraged to get
involved in the church activities. Please read 1Peter chapter two verse nine: “9 But
you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a
holy nation, God’s special possession, that
you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his
wonderful light.”
6.
Leadership means
serving God by serving His people and the community, as stated in Mark chapter
ten verses forty two to forty five: “42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who
are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials
exercise authority over them. 43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among
you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to
serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
7.
Generosity towards the
church is not only giving money, but also giving of your time and talents as a
means to serve Jesus Christ. Read 2Corinthians chapter nine verse eleven: “You will be enriched in
every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us
your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
8.
Our focus is outward
showing love towards our neighbours and the nations and fulfilling the great commission
Jesus commanded in Matthew chapter twenty eight verse nineteen where it says: “Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
We have three services
on a Sunday, two in the morning and one in the evening. Also, we have Open
Doors Ministries where we care for the unemployed and destitute. Each person
receives a plate of food and hope through Jesus Christ, the Gospel. We also have
the kid’s ministry and the youth. We have a coffee shop, delicious meals are
served at reasonable prices and you can sit and chat and make new friends.
