Christmas

Christmas is almost here again. The year went by so fast, I can well remember what we did last years. I worked right through the festive season, except over Christmas and new year. I bought a gazebo for us to sit outside in the shade with the intention of leaving it up permanent . Then, a freak storm arrived and tore it down. That happened on the sixteenth, so I bought gazebo number two so that we can sit outside on the veranda instead of being stuck in the hot house. On Christmas day, the day started as hot as usual. My wife bought some finger snacks for us, it was too hot to spend time in front of an oven, cooking. Even the shadow of the gazebo wasn't enough to protect us from the heat. Then, another storm arrived, with the fireworks and thunder. It was scary, the lightning and thunder. I took the gazebo down promptly before the wind tore it down again, and sat outside in the rain. The cooling rain was a relief from the suffocating heat. It was very hot yesterday. So far today, it's cool, but it's still early morning. It looks a bit rainy so far.
